I guess when the browser is embedded into a desktop app (Outlook) the security rules are different. This tutorial describes how to add Microsoft 365 email to Gmail (webmail). I tried adding most of the URL's I can think of to the Trusted sites in Internet Explorer 11, but this didn't help. Most likely the standard URL's when there is a single account only (organizatinal only or just individual) are somehow allowed to run Javascript, but when there is a need of this "choice" screen there are different URL's used and the IE 11 browser control disables Javascript. I am also a bit worried to mess with the individual/organizational G Suite account as my organizational account is the organization admin/owner.Įverything was working till now, I guess it is needed to add some google URL to a list of trusted sites on the Outlook/Windows site, so the Javascript can be executed.
Unfortunately, I cannot access the individual account as it is linked to an old phone number I stopped using years ago and I am asked to enter the code sent to this phone number, so I have access only to the organizational account. I suppose this is somehow related to restrictions of the IE 11 browser control embedded into Outlook desktop.
I am also able to login in IE11 with this G Suite account by first selecting "Organizational" account and then going to the login screen. I also checked the internet options of IE 11 and the Javascript is not disabled. It is clearly an IE 11 browser control embedded in the desktop Outlook as clicking on "Learn more" opens new IE 11 window even though this is Window 11 and I cannot find IE11 in the search. The problem seems to be happening only when I have to choose between "organizational" and "individual" account. I have another G Suite account (my other company account) where I don't have an "individual" account, only "organizational" - in this case I am not asked to choose account type and I am able to authenticate with google and add the IMAP account to Outlook. Just to clarify - with this G Suite account I have both "organizational" and "individual" Google accounts, so this is why I am asked first what kind of account I want to login.
The same happens on a brand new laptop I installed with fresh Windows 11 / Outlook v. I don't have problem with other G Suite accounts where I am not asked to choose between "Organizational" and "Individual" account, but this account is important to me as it is my company account. It was working for me for more than a year. This makes me think that Outlook is opening the sign-in screen in IE 11 browser control and somehow Javascript is disabled. If I click on "Learn more" I get an Internet Explorer 11 browser opened with the page. If you continue to have problems signing in, please contact your administrator." To keep your Google Account secure, try signing in on a browser that has JavaScript turned on. "The browser you’re using doesn’t support JavaScript, or has JavaScript turned off. I select "Organizational G Suite account" and then I get "Couldn’t sign you in" screen with this message:
Then I get a question by Google to choose "Organizational G Suite account" or "Individual Google Account". When I enter the G Suite account email it shows the Google login screen. I am trying to add Google G Suite account to Outlook.
